Wolverhampton is a city within the West Midlands. Wolverhampton was granted its city status as part of the Millennium celebrations in 2000. It has a population of over 230,000 people. Other leisure activities within Wolverhampton include Wolverhampton Racecourse, a popular horse racing venue. Wolverhampton Racecourse was also the first floodlit racetrack in Britain.
Wolverhampton's central location means that it is within easy reach of the rest of the UK. The trains run regular rail services to surrounding cities including London, Manchester and Birmingham. Wolverhampton has excellent road transport links and easily accessible motorways include the M6, M5 and the M54, which are all within around 7 miles of the city centre.
