Background

We are a creative team of engineers, designers and technical specialists. We provide innovative solutions to complex engineering and design challenges for buildings. Irrespective of the scale or complexity of a project, we provide a full range of MEP, environmental and sustainability services, bringing buildings to life and ensuring that they perform in operation as well as they look.

At Hoare Lea, we already have several award-winning and accredited training programmes in place and are recognised as a market leading employer in the construction industry. The firm is changing too, embracing a new world of digital design and engineering technology, developing innovative new methods for more sustainable construction. Attracting, retaining and developing our people is critical to our continued success and something we all feel passionate about.

The Learning & Organisation Development (L&OD) team are part of the People and Development group under the HR Director. We are looking to recruit a passionate Learning and Organisational Development Manager who recognises the difference L&OD can make to the performance of a business, based out of Bristol.

The Role

You will be part of the Learning and Organisational Development Team with a specialist focus on managing change associated with key strategic programmes across the firm. You will lead the creation and implementation of change management strategies, from firm-wide launch activities (working with Internal Comms) to local interpretation, ownership and implementation across our offices and teams. There will also be elements of programme and project management as you support sponsors and directors to lead their change programmes effectively. You will need to work collaboratively across Learning and OD, Internal Communications and with sponsors and project managers to help our people be ready, providing leadership and guidance in change, engagement and adoption.

Work with project managers and stakeholders to create and deliver engagement, comms and training for relevant programmes of work. To include firm wide broadcast comms, conversations and engagement activities, communities and local leadership teams.

Lead the design and oversee delivery of local transition and ownership of change to delivery teams. Local transition will include locally led engagement workshops, sense making, local ‘launch events’, capability assessments, training plans, local KPIs and milestones, and other things.

Set up local change teams where appropriate to support key initiatives and changes in the firm. Chair and facilitate these groups, developing their change capabilities so they become champions and local leaders in adopting new initiatives.

Creation of a change management toolkit with templates and tools that enable the creation, ownership and implementation of an appropriately customised change strategy. This will include how to establish local aims, objectives and KPIs that ‘ladder up’ to meet the firm wide digital roadmap, and how to report and monitor progress and report back to centre.

Provide 1:1 support, guidance and mentoring to both project leads and to locally appointed change managers, to enable effective change and to facilitate local adoption.

Be a positive and constructive member of the Learning and OD Team, supporting other initiatives as required, enabling the teams’ own development and actively joining in with wider People and Development activities.
