The Role:
As a Senior IT Support engineer , you will provide Engineering support for labs and development teams onsite, including the rollout of the Hybrid Lab Network and site standardization into Microsoft Corp.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, evaluate, upgrade, repair, test and troubleshoot quickly under pressure.
Provide Client OS Encryption & Security Management.
Provide Smart hands for the Microsoft global AV support teams.
Break fix of desktops, laptops, devices & peripherals.
Track all hardware & software in central asset database.
Provide smart hand support for In-house developed tools and application & Smart hands support for cable rooms/labs.
Work with procurement leads on goods receipting & asset tagging.
Track Maintenance & Renewal (M&R) contracts for all hardware assets & running reports as requested. Quarterly perform audits of all hardware & reporting.
Provide new employee onboarding support for Microsoft systems & Luminosity specific devices/assets: MFA, Device Setup, Instrument Setup/Configuration, Connectivity
Ensure deployment of end user equipment: Engineering workstation setups on desks, Headsets, mice, keyboards & other devices allocation.
Configure and deploy OS images to desktops, and devices using Microsoft deployment products such as WDS & MDT.
Liaise with OEM partners for support and tracking right through to resolution.
Own technical calls with OEMs - Engineering instrument device support.
Perform maintenance repair and system overhauls as a matter of routine (like modular swaps and unit replacements).
Manage 3rd party software, utilities, and drivers for various hardware components/instruments.
Ensure 3rd Party application patching to an agreed patch compliance threshold
Provide tuning systems to get maximum performance.
Your Profile
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Software – Operating Systems (current and legacy), M365.
Ability to configure, evaluate, upgrade, repair, test and troubleshoot quickly under pressure.
Knowledge of installing peripherals and components (GPUs, Disks, NICs, Memory).
Knowledge of installation of 3rd Party and internal applications/tools.
Experience with Client OS Encryption & Security Management.
Smart hands for central printing services.
Experience troubleshooting performance issues on systems (including custom-built workstations).
Familiar with networking and all supported operating system platforms: Microsoft Client, Mac, Linux, Windows Server (but not essential).
Experience with Fiber Specific Instruments.
Knowledge of patching desk outlets within cable rooms.
Experience with Client OS updates using Windows Update and/or WSUS.
Good to have:
Understanding of network cabling (Fibre, Copper, etc..).
