Basic Purpose
Commercial & Business Planning is a key function for the coordination of commercial strategy and optimization of resources across international markets. The goal of this department is to optimize revenue growth and ROI, aligning local market goals and actions to headquarter strategy and priorities. The Intern, Reporting & Commercial Operations is responsible for assisting in creation and maintenance of agencies in our reservation system as well as conducting analytical activities to support all commercial planning initiatives including the development, maintenance, running and distributions of reports and management of data tables and views.
Responsibilities
Support and action the setup of new agencies and territories. Be responsible for the setup and maintenance of agency links and classifications including quarterly updates and new account assignment.
Support the development of new and existing standard operating procedures (SOP) including but not limited to updates to business rules, bonus commission, promotions, coupons and other revenue driving activities with IT/Systems and Revenue Operations.
Maintain agency database and reporting links to ensure accuracy of data across multiple databases including Data Warehouse, Salesforce, Peoplesoft.
Utilize reporting tools (Tableau/Business Objects/Hyperion/Sales Force) to action the development and enhancement of the analytical capabilities, including the creation, maintenance, and distribution of reports.
Understand the competitive environment by conducting regular Industry and Competition analysis, using this competitive intelligence to inform the execution of products, price, promotions, and ancillary products.
Conduct ad-hock analysis of internal and external business trends to drive the commercial activities of the local offices.
Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Are you what we are looking for?
Our ideal Intern is a Placement Student or Graduate with an interest in commercial, revenue or financial positions. Previous experience working within a team desirable.
Education
Placement Student or Graduate in business administration, finance/accounting, tourism management or comparable.
What You Bring to the Table
Self-starter, Analytical thinker, experience using analytical tools including Excel, Tableau, Business Objects and SQL preferred. Project management skills, highly motivated, strategic thinker with an the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines.
