Insurance Assistant (Maternity Cover, 12 months)

Latsco (London) Ltd., located in Central London (West End) and representing a fleet of Product, Crude Oil Tankers, LPG, LNG, Containers and Dry bulk vessels is looking to recruit an Insurance Assistant for a fixed term contract, minimum 12 months. The position is based in London.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Reviewing, checking, and processing in Document Management System insurance related invoices, claims deductibles, insurance premiums (debits and credits) and ad hoc insurance costs as well as facilitating accounts and keeping Financial Reporting department updated.
Assisting the Insurance Manager with renewals, reviewing and saving documentation, comparing expiring and new policy wordings and ensuring relevant filing
Liaising with brokers, insurers and other related parties
Working closely with the Chartering and Operations department dealing with critical time sensitive enquiries.
General handling of claims, including but not limited to:
Acknowledging new claims, engaging with P&I Club, Correspondents, lawyers or brokers under the supervision and guidance of the Insurance Manager
Monitoring open claims and liaising with related company departments to collate and prepare reimbursement for insurers.
Electronic filing of claims and ensuring Company’s filing system is always up to date
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Up to 2 years of marine insurance experience (broking house, owner’s office or P&I Club)
Educated to Bachelor Degree level
Excellent command in written and spoken English
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software
Organisational skills and attention to detail
Good time management skills
Ability to work under pressure
Analytical and numerical skills
Team player
