You will play a critical role in managing financial operations for a dedicated product area within the business (Air or Ocean Freight, Customs etc). Duties include forecasting, budgeting, and P&L reviews for our UK branches and operational departments.
This is an entry-level/graduate role, reporting to the Senior Finance Controller and working within a team of 5, this role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career in finance/accounting.

Your role as a Finance Controller
Oversee month-end closes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with department heads and business units to gather relevant data for the forecasting and budgeting processes
Facilitate monthly profit and loss (P&L) reviews with stakeholders
Monitor Product / Branch performance, driving root-cause analysis on KPI’s such as profitability, cost of sales, variance analysis, GP/EBIT conversion
Respond to queries and requests for financial information from DHL’s European and Global teams
Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, including the Head of Business Products, Country Accounting Team, Regional/Global Product Controlling Team, Head of Sales/Sales Team, and regional directors and branch managers
About you - you will have:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or at the final stage of exams
University Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
A valid UK driving licence as travel within the UK is required (1 or 2 times a month)
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
