Clyde Hydrogen Systems presents this exciting opportunity to create a significant Scottish business in the supply of next-generation electrolyser systems. Their breakthrough decoupled electrolysis technology delivers high-pressure green hydrogen at scale and at low cost. They will also bring compatibility with renewable energy sources. Markets are moving fast as governments around the World set ambitious decarbonisation targets and accelerate transition plans to adopt Hydrogen as a key energy carrier. The company has just raised pre-seed funding of £1 million, a significant endorsement of their mission to develop cutting-edge hydrogen production solutions. The venture is a spin-out out from the renowned electrochemistry research group at the University of Glasgow.
The CEO is required to:
Set vision and define overall strategy from launch to scale
Drive growth - develop and implement scalable and efficient strategies
Build out the team – attracting, retaining and developing world-class talent
Raise funding to support scale-up and future exit plans
Build strategic partnerships and relationships to drive growth, acting as the Public Champion for the business
Report updates to the Board of Directors, investors and stakeholders
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
Successful CEO track record of start-up/scale-up in power, renewable energy and engineering sectors
Experience in leading and scaling a high-growth start-up, with investment funding
Track record of building successful products and high-performing teams, ideally with system manufacturing oversight.
Experience in managing a Board of Directors, investors and stakeholders
Excellent communicator with organisational and prioritisation skills
Degree in a relevant science/engineering discipline
This is a venture with outstanding growth prospects in fast-developing global markets. At this juncture the terms will include a basic salary commensurate with the early-stage nature of the company, alongside a highly competitive equity/options package. Personal terms will naturally scale in-line with anticipated high-growth and the attainment of key future business objectives.
