The role
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day accounting services in the specific service line to ensure that the team consistently meet deadlines and provide a first class and highly professional service at all times.
Helping to develop an internal Centre of Excellence for the wider Group and promoting a positive image of the business with external clients.
To oversee resource planning for team members and to participate in accounting related projects.
To manage, supervise and develop team members, maintain, and develop relationships with the team’s clients.
To deputise for the Manager during absence, and to support them when required to fulfil the team’s roles and responsibilities.
About you
We’re looking for a fully qualified (ACA / ACCA) Accountant with a minimum of 4 years’ practical accounting work experience.
Direct experience of producing financial statements for a variety of entities is essential as is experience of developing and coaching others in a team environment.
Candidates should offer experience of exceptional client service and a good understanding and knowledge of current accounting legislation, regulation and working practices to include IFRS and UK GAAP.
Experience in a financial services environment or professional practice is required and knowledge of UK VAT very desirable.
A strong commitment to client service excellence and a proactive and disciplined approach to work is essential as is a results driven approach.
