As Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for providing technical estimates for incoming work, and liaising closely with customers, suppliers, and the company's production team, to ensure accurate estimates are provided. This role would suit an experienced estimator, or previously experienced CNC machinist, who is looking for a new challenge in an office environment and apply their excellent IT skills and experience to a customer-focused role. Responsibilities Receive, review and reply to Customer RFQ’s and their engineering drawings
Create timely and accurate estimates and quotations from customer enquiries
Processing customer enquiries through our quotation process
Liaising with customers over the phone and via email, regarding technical and non-technical questions, providing a client-centric service
Producing quotations to deadlines – estimating all machining, materials, and inspection times
Understand and identify machining methods of manufacture and select accurate cycle times (CNC Turning & Boring experience a distinct advantage)
Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings and creating accurate process plans
Liaise with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility
Source supplier/subcontractor quotations, developing new and existing supplier relationships
Skills and Experience Extensive experience in precision engineering is required with extensive knowledge of machine capabilities/machining practices
The ability to read and translate technical drawings is essential
Accuracy and attention to detail is key to success
Computer literacy is essential
An excellent working knowledge of mechanical engineering
Excellent interpersonal, communicative, listening, and negotiation skills
Commitment and drive to enhance the performance of the business
Ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise
Resilience when working to fixed deadlines
Hours You'll be working Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.30pm but extra hours may be required if needed to fulfil your duties. Benefits 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays + Bonus holiday over the Christmas Period for full shutdown
