We are fully supported by a wide team of support functions, from HR to Finance, to Business Development and Planning and Logistics, our team is built to give Safran Seats an end-to-end capability in house in the UK.

Description

Plan and manage own workload and a limited number of others stress activities for a specific program

Technically support junior stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed to requirements of time, cost and quality

Assist with identifying certification test failure risk, an ensure it is managed effectively and minimised with the use of appropriate analytical methods and judgement

Prepare, review and approve hand calculations, linear static, non-linear, crash, multi-body dynamic assessment would be favourable and optimisation FE models for seating products to support the design and certification process, plus the in-service life of the product

Prepare, review and approve stress and structural documentation to submit for internal/external customers and regulatory approval

Review and approve drawings, designs, concessions and repairs with respect to stress

Support the Design team in ensuring that products meet regulatory, cost and weight targets

Identify structural design issues and recommend improvements and alternate solutions

Supporting root cause analysis (e.g. 8D/Ishikawa)

Assist in producing plans of tasks and resource to Programme Team for stress activities

Liaise with Design, Certification, Manufacturing and other company departments as required

Liaise with external suppliers, customers, airframers, regulatory bodies and other industrial organisations as required

Provide expertise and lead continuous improvement initiatives of department processes, methods and manuals

Profile

Minimum - 2:1 Bachelors (Honours) degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering.

Experience of working to industry standards and codes. Knowledge of Part 25 (EASA/FAA) and Boeing / Airbus specifications. Knowledge of ACs, ARPs and Aerospace Standards. Knowledge of Aerospace Material Standards and Material or component test standards and post-processing methods (e.g. ASTMs and B-Basis calculations)

Organisational and planning skills with ability to self-plan and manage the technical work, meet deadlines and work effectively with different functions and levels of responsibility.

Prepare written communications and presentations to support the programme team and stress department activities.

Assist in the preparation of task and resource plans.

- Your key responsibility is to assist program managers with the operational management of their organization to help them meet their objectives.- Your role is to help managers achieve their commitments regarding delivery (deliverables, milestones), non-recurring and recurring costs (NRC and RC), Earned Value Management (EVM), and quality- You must be proficient in the use and configuration of management tools, and in overseeing their use by people involved in the process- You are expected to address and report any irregularities with regard to the program and project management reference system- You are also expected to make recommendations to ensure continuous process improvement and the deployment of best practices- You do not have any decision-making authority regarding programs, projects or business lines and you cannot stand in for managers.- In other words, management, planning, resource allocation, communication of leadtimes, financial data, risks and opportunities remain the sole responsibility of managers
