We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor with a passion for making a difference through education. This role is an exceptional opportunity to work within offender learning, helping to improve the lives of others and their communities. As a Maths Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging education to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Day-to-day of the role:• Deliver accredited and non-accredited Functional Skills Maths programmes tailored to the needs and interests of learners.• Develop and implement personalised learning plans that equip learners with essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for progression.• Utilise a variety of teaching methods to provide a stimulating learning environment.• Assess and evaluate learner progress, providing constructive feedback and support.• Maintain accurate records of learner achievements and progress.• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:• Level 2 Maths and English qualifications (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C).• A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards), with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding qualification within a specified timescale.• Qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills Maths.• Proven track record of effective teaching in the subject specialism.• A clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
