Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are working with an Ofsted Rated PRU in Lewisham who are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work across KS3-KS4 class. This Teaching Assistant role is to support both students and the class teacher with the day to day running of the classroom. You must be confident to support the KS3 and KS4 children working on a one to one basis and in a group capacity as and when required to do so.
The hours of work are 08:30am- 16:00pm and the hours will be Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. This role is a long term opportunity with the view for access to apply for permanent roles.
This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting the class teacher with anything they need support with including keeping all children on task and ensuring that the work they doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensure the classroom is kept clean and tidy each day.
Role and Responsibilities:
Supporting with Learning and Developing
Working on a 1:1 and small group basis
Encouraging, Supporting and De-escalating students
Being involved across the curriculum, including outdoor learning, PE and Core subjects
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant that is:
Confident with the UK Curriculum
Recent experience with Secondary Ages
Experience of SEMH and Behaviours that challenge
Able to contribute to, and work, as part of a team
Reliable and flexible to suit the expectations of our schools
Creative, Pro-active and Enthusiastic Individual
Able to work under own initiative
Education related qualification preferred but not essential
