We are looking for an Occupational Health Technician (Part-time 22.5h per week) to join our team. As an Occupational Health Technician (Part-time), you will play a vital role in supporting the Occupational Health team in providing a comprehensive occupational health service to our employees. The role will offer an interesting and diverse range of responsibilities, which will encompass delivering health surveillance screening, assisting with medical assessments, and promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Key responsibilities of the Occupational Health Technician (Part-time, 22.5h per week) include...
Engage in site visits to conduct a diverse array of health surveillance on vital positions within the company. This will be in alignment with risk assessments and professional guidelines. Additionally, provide recommendations, promptly escalate concerns, and offer support by referring individuals to specialists when necessary.
Conducting health surveillance screening, such as audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, safety critical, and HAVS 1 and 2.
Assisting with medical assessments, including fitness for work assessments
Supporting the development and implementation of health and wellbeing initiatives in the workplace
Maintaining accurate and confidential digital health records
Providing advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding occupational health issues
Ensure professional standards are maintained via evidence-based practice.
Maintain records of equipment calibration and ensure adequate stock levels of health surveillance equipment.
Liaise with and escalate issues to the OH Nurse or other health professional, as necessary. Collaborate with operational managers at all levels, colleagues from the People Team, and Health and Safety colleagues to discuss health surveillance, offering valuable advice and guidance.
Comply with Health and Safety regulations and promptly report any concerns or areas for improvement or escalation.

Full UK Drivers Licence and access to a car as you will be covering all of our offices and depots.
Ideally, a relevant qualification in Occupational Health, such as Certificate in Occupational Health Technician (COHT)
Health Surveillance certifications in audiometry, spirometry and ideally skin assessment
Experience working in an occupational health setting.
Knowledge of health surveillance screening techniques and protocols
Experience of modern screening techniques for health surveillance and the ability to interpret results
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient and confident IT skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information

Salary of £29,582 per annum (Pro rata)
Annual pay scale increase
27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays (pro rata) with opportunity to buy/sell holidays.
Work schedule will include home working for approx. 40% of the working week and on-site presence for 60%. The assigned sites will be located in Yorkshire & the Humber, Calderdale, and Lancashire .
You can also work from our offices in Blackburn, Halifax, or Wakefield office.
