A highly regarded manufacturing organisation based in the UK, known for their global reputation, is currently seeking a Buyer/Senior Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis in Hope Valley, Derbyshire. The position offers a salary of up to £35,000.
The Buyer/Senior Buyer will be a crucial part of the Purchasing Department, offering essential procurement support to the Purchasing Manager. This role also presents excellent prospects for career advancement in the coming years.
Ideal candidates will have previous experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly within a technical manufacturing setting, at the buyer or senior buyer level.
Role responsibilities of the Buyer/Senior Buyer include:
Procuring goods, materials, components, and services in accordance with cost, quality, and delivery objectives
Ensuring a continuous supply of necessary goods and materials
Engaging in contract negotiations to enhance pricing and business terms
Assessing and reviewing suppliers, conducting performance evaluations to ensure adherence to contracts
Identifying cost-saving opportunities through research and analysis
Establishing and nurturing relationships with internal stakeholders to enhance product offerings to meet customer demands
Maintaining meticulous records and documentation for complete traceability
Person Specification of the Buyer/Senior Buyer:
Previous procurement experience within a technical manufacturing background
Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Demonstrable experience of supplier selection and management
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload and keen to progress in career
