About You:
This role calls for a person who has a keen eye and passion for creating products that provide solutions to real-life problems. It will suit someone adept at thinking both creatively and logically, who enjoys ‘making things’ and who loves to challenge themselves.
About The Role:
Design and development of new innovative products and supporting Kwickscreen's goal of revolutionising healthcare
Solve complex engineering problems and apply solutions to a broad spectrum of products and systems, with precision
Design products from concept stage through to production following an iterative design process
Support project planning, delivery, and ownership of projects taking into account project dependencies, costs, and risks
Solving issues within our existing product line, and coming up with new innovative ways to improve them - rapidly and efficiently
Constructing and testing prototypes and making the necessary modifications as testing progresses
Conduct rigorous testing protocols to ensure new product development is fit for market
Determine materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes used in the production of our products
Effectively move products from R&D stage seamlessly into production
Produce final design information including parts list, assembly layout, BOM’s and technical drawings
Be open-minded to support the wider needs of the business when required
Skills / Required experience:
MEng in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
Proven capability in product development, design for manufacture (including low volume, batch production, and typical mass production techniques and processes), new product introduction, production engineering, and continuous improvement. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their capability and contribution to multiple successful new product introductions to the market and have a mastery of typical NPD processes
Proven expertise in a typical 3D CAD system, ideally Solidworks or Onshape. Able to rapidly generate complex 3D parts, assemblies, and ISO standard 2D drawings, experienced in revision control and change management and all aspects of technical documentation
Some experience in designing parts for a wide area of manufacturing processes, including plastic moulding
Possess completer/finisher characteristics
Willingness to create physical prototypes, products, and associated equipment using modern workshop equipment including, 3D rapid prototyping, CNC, fabrication etc
Able to communicate ideas effectively, be an adept collaborator, work well in a team, and be cross-disciplinary in your thinking
Proven ability to work against extremely tight deadlines in a hands-on role
Show leadership potential and qualities
Ability to be self-sufficient, driven, and have strong personal accountability
Desired experience:
Some Industry experience in electro-mechanical engineering and electrical/electronic systems or products to support our growing KwickSwitch product area is preferable
