Europe's most successful Integrated Defence Company is seeking the expertise of a talented Software Safety Engineer to help drive the development and application of safety solutions into some of the worlds most advanced weapon systems.
In this hands on role, you’ll collaborate with high performing teams of engineers both locally and internationally. Taking a lead on coordinating all safety-related activities across multiple projects and product variants, including Embedded, Command and Control (C2) and Mission Planning systems.
Essential Experience:
· Significant experience in delivering safety-related/critical reports
· Held responsibility for the authoring and delivery of (software) safety cases and arguments
· Modular Safety Cases and use of the Goal Structuring Notation (GSN).
· Familiarisation and working knowledge of standards such as: Def Stan 00-055, 00-056; IEC 61508, and RTCA DO-178C.
· Ability to work with, and produce, FFA / HAZOP / SHARD.
· Hold a keen an eye for detail, understand the need for complete openness and traceability in the safety arguments
· Previous exposure to projects covering actuation systems, launchers and weapon controllers

Benefits Package:
Base salary: £70,000 - £80,000 - Based on experience & interview performance
Annual Bonus: up to 21%
Annual Salary Review – Up to 3.35% + £1k increase per annum
· Paid Overtime & Flexi-Leave: Up to 15 days flexi leave per year and an average of 5-10% of salary as overtime. – Optional after 37 hour working week
· Pension : Pension can rise to 14% (6% Employee and 8% Employer)
· Holidays : 25 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays and an additional 3-4 days for the Christmas shutdown.
· Company Sick Pay : This ranges from 6 weeks for the first 6 months of service and on an increasing scale increases up to 48 weeks after 5 years’ service.
