Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line Support)

Copello are pleased to be partnered with a major Defence and Aerospace business based close by to High Wycombe recruiting for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Infrastructure Engineer will be joining the IT team and play a senior role in implementing and optimising processes and practices to build a solid infrastructure and services that are not only reliable, but scalable, secure and efficient.
Day to day responsibilities will include;
Installing, configuring and maintaining infrastructure and systems
Respond as the technical subject matter expert within the team for the resolution of all technical incident / problems
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, stability and efficiency of infrastructure and systems
Manage and delivery relevant changes to infrastructure and systems
Support on BAU system issues (ticketing, 1st and 2nd line response)
Facilitate and lead the delivery of technical projects and complex packages successfully, into BAU operations
Where appropriate, support and mentor junior members of the team
Produce ad maintain IT documentation and ensure adherence to procedures and standards
Deploy, improve and secure Microsoft cloud services
To be considered, the Infrastructure Engineer will have experience in the following areas;
On-prem server virtualisation (SANs/ vSAN)
On-prem back up solutions and cloud back up solutions
Server virtualisation (VMWare / Hyper-V/ VDI)
Windows active directory
Azure AD
Cyber security and securing systems against cyber attacks
MECM/SCCM
Edge-Firewalls (Palo Alto)
Troubleshooting and diagnose software and hardware issues
Cisco switching
As the Infrastructure Engineer you will balance running and managing the delivery of a number of complex projects whilst also supporting business as usual operations.
This position is based nearby to High Wycombe, and will require 4 days per week in the office.
To be considered, it is an essential requirement for the Infrastructure Engineer to be eligible for UK Security clearance (SC).
