The Role:
Supporting the delivery of our long-term strategy by developing people, plant, safety and equipment. Strive for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take part in plant set-up and commissioning.
- Development of SOPs, KPIs, PPM and management plans for site operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards for health and safety, environment and quality.
- Ensure compliance with external stakeholders and, if possible, have experience in dealing with all internal and external regulatory control bodies.
- Ability to develop staff whilst maintaining and improving on business targets.
- Deliver distillery and business objectives aligned to key performance indicators.
- Implement and manage various projects within distillery operations with a clear structure, change control and communication with all involved.
- Ensure high housekeeping standards are achieved and maintained.
- Maintain compliance with HMRC requirements, quality, health and safety, environmental, energy management, time management.
- Take responsibility for self-development and support the development of others within the team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant experience within distilling environment, preferably with commissioning experience. Other manufacturing processes will be welcome.
- Must have relevant qualification within Production/Chemical Engineering, Distilling or Brewing with relevant experience within a Malt Whisky Distillery.
- Able to analyse production data.
- Able to make decisions based on a logical approach to fact gathering.
- Able to communicate effectively within and outwith business boundaries, including suppliers, contractors, customers and regulatory authorities using appropriate methods.
- Have an excellent knowledge of distillery production techniques.
- Have a comprehensive awareness of business compliance requirements for HMRC, Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental, Energy Management, Time management and Training scheduling and management.
- Have a high level of awareness of legislation and company requirements on issues affected by production operations.
