A world-renowned name with a HQ base in Portsmouth, my client are a retail brand expanding their operations by adding to their credit control team.
Description
Credit Controller:
Assessing customer credit and either approving or halting transactions (with necessary approval from Directors).
Pursuing overdue payments to ensure timely settlement by customers, escalating if payments are delayed or missed.
Handling payments via phone.
Overseeing credit note requests and maintaining records alongside the General Manager.
Conducting bank reconciliations and preparing and submitting statutory and statistical reports.
Completing and submitting tasks for both internal and external audits.
Monitoring the finance email inbox and addressing any inquiries.
Performing various finance administrative duties such as invoicing, assisting with new account setups, and managing paperwork.
Addressing ad hoc operational and finance-related requests.
Profile
Credit Controller:
Proficient in Excel with a good working knowledge
Background of over 1 year in credit control and familiarity with reporting standards
Skilled in building strong relationships and possessing clear and confident communication abilities
Team player with a proactive "can-do" attitude, as the role involves close collaboration with various teams, managers, and Directors
Familiarity with utilizing external credit agency information systems
