Purpose

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join an ambitious department specialising in Clinical Negligence claims, with a passion for justice that likes to depart from tradition and do things differently.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be expected to manage claims from inception (taking the enquiry, risk assessing, and advising on funding options) through to resolution, ensuring the highest standard of representation;

As well as managing your own caseload you will assist colleagues on a number of existing matters of varying complexity and value, both non-litigated and litigated;

You will conduct thorough investigations and be able to negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurers whilst striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our Clients;

You will be adept at drafting key legal documents, including pleadings and witness statements;

You will keep abreast of legal developments and changes in clinical negligence law with an ability to adapt to resultant changes in practice;

You will have impeccable client care skills and provide expert legal advice, explaining complex legal matters, whilst also supporting clients through their legal journey;

You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to serve our clients’ best interests and deliver an exceptional client service;

You will be passionate for justice and committed to achieving resolution for those who have suffered harm due to medical negligence.

Skills and Experience

Skilled and experienced Claimant Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Legal Executive (From NQ up to 5 years PQE);

Experience in handling a Claimant clinical negligence caseload;

Excellent communication skills;

Organised approach with strong attention to detail;

Good team player;

Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines;

Strong problem solving skills.
