Cornelius Electronics is currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our established engineering team. We are a cable assembly organisation, founded in 1979 and employing approximately 200 people across a large facility in Port Talbot.
We are looking to grow our Engineering team with an Electrical Design Engineer to focus on our growing box-build capabilities. The role is varied and engaging, with opportunities for career development.
4-day week: Monday – Thursday 7:00AM – 5:00PM.
3 breaks per day (2 X 15-minute breaks, plus 30-minute lunch break).
Main responsibilities:
Reverse engineer customer information/products.
Develop and revise wiring harness assembly and installation drawings.
Electrical component identification and sourcing.
Component and assembly design.
Bill of material creation and assembly costing.
Prepare/check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
Produce samples during NPI process.
Work to quickly resolve electrical manufacturing and installation problems.
Monitor and report status versus requirements.
Provide electrical engineering guidance/counsel and communicate program information within the organisation and supporting groups.
Experience:
Understanding of Auto Cad (Essential).
Experienced in 3D Modelling & Design (Preferable).
Competent with Microsoft Office skills (Preferable).
Knowledge of IPC standards/Electrical Wiring (Preferable).
Experience of PPAP submissions and DFMA (Preferable).
PCB Design (Basics).
