As the Grid Connections Manager, you will be managing a fast-growing pipeline of works across the UK. The role will be a vital part of the Global Grid team, allowing you to shape the internal grid process and participate in external industry working groups to influence the ever-changing grid connection policies.
Responsibilities of the Grid Connections Manager:
Carry out network analysis at both distribution and transmission levels to identify potential locations with available capacity
Engage with DNOs/National Grid for pre-app meetings and prepare grid applications
Provide technical due diligence to grid offers including optimisation of connection solutions, costs, programme of works and curtailment assessment
Provide grid inputs e.g. substation design, non-contestable/contestable costs, DUOS/TNOUS charges, capital contributions, and securities for financial modelling, tendering and planning purposes
Manage ICPs and consultants to progress projects to RTB/energisation including reviewing design submissions and overseeing construction works
Provide support to the sales processes
Prepare grid reports and strategic advice to the Management team
Criteria for the Grid Connections Manager:
A background in electrical engineering
Experience working with or for a DNO, National Grid or ICP’s throughout the whole project lifecycle
Extra High Voltage (132kV and above) design network knowledge
