NEW ROLE: Head of Sustainability West Midlands £DOE Industry sector: Building Services Duties: o Own the company's Carbon Reduction Plan.o Drive the Scope 1, 2, and 3 agenda.o Conduct assessments to identify areas where sustainable practices can be integrated.o Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and community groups, to build relationships and gather input on sustainability initiatives. o Stay informed about relevant environmental regulations and ensure the business complies with them.o Gather data on environmental impact, energy consumption, waste generation, and other relevant metrics.o Analyse sustainability performance and use the data to identify areas for improvement.o Evaluate and monitor the environmental and social impact of the supply chain i.e. embodied carbon and contract-specific Scope 3.o Coordinate pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives. Skills & Experience o Genuine passion for the environment and sustainability and belief in the difference a company can make.o Demonstrable experience managing an environmental function or similar relevant field.o Ability to promote environmental awareness and influence internal and external stakeholders.o Strong attention to detail for compiling accurate statistics and writing factual environmental reports.o Commercial awareness and understanding of commercial responsibilities.o Ability to set sustainability targets, develop plans, and oversee their delivery through effective project management.o Formal Qualifications such as Degree/ Diploma in environmental management or similar advantageous and/or Membership of IEMA or CIWEM beneficial. This is not essential - they are after an experienced individual. o Extensive knowledge of ISO14001.o Full UK driving licence required; occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
