An exciting role has become available for a high calibre professional to join the Legal department, at DX, as Legal Counsel

Role summary:
The legal counsel will be primarily responsible for providing a wide range of legal advice and assistance in respect of any commercial activity within the DX group of companies, protecting DX’s rights and interests and ensuring legal compliance. The legal counsel will advise and collaborate with senior management on day-to-day matters and strategic commercial transactions
Preparing and negotiating all commercial contracts to support the sales, operations and procurement activities of DX, including:
General conditions of carriage
Supplier terms of business (for services and goods)
Logistics services and warehousing agreements
Providing general legal advice and support to DX business divisions and central support functions on any issues, including:
New business tender responses and questionnaires
Customer and supplier disputes
Data protection and UK GDPR compliance, including support to the Data Protection Officer
Assisting the Company Secretary with company administration, corporate compliance and regulatory advice, including:
Group company board meetings and sub-committee meetings
Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Fraud, Modern Slavery and other corporate compliance
Statutory books, records and filings
The ideal candidate would:
be a general commercial solicitor with a couple of years’ experience including some time in an in-house setting
have solid contract law experience working on a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements
have some experience in data protection law and GDPR or a desire to develop expertise in this area of law
have excellent verbal and written communications skills
have the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload
LLB, or other degree with equivalent legal qualification
SRA Practising Certificate.
