The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a HSEQ Officer for a leading group of companies based in Scotland. The HSEQ Officer will coach, guide, advise and where necessary and instruct company employees including management on all HSEQ matters to ensure adherence to legalisation, industry & client standards, and company policies.

Responsibilities
To cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships
Coach, guide, advise and where necessary and instruct company employees including management on all HSEQ matters to ensure adherence to legalisation
Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards
Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered too
Ensure working practices are safe and compliant with legislation
Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements
Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies relevant to the business
Lead in-house training with managers and employees about all QHSE matters and risks
Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
Attend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journals
Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins
Ensure equipment is installed safely
Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g., asbestos (COSHH)
Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
Essential Skills
General or NEBOSH Construction certificate or equivalent
Demonstrate a passion for Health, Safety, Environment & Quality with robust knowledge and understanding of these subjects
Able to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone to tight deadlines as appropriate, setting own high-quality standards
Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Full UK Driving licence
A strong working knowledge of Risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, and Display Screen Equipment
Auditor training/experience
A “hands-on” implementer of processes and change
