Location - Milton Keynes
Salary - £19.80 - £24.10 per hour DOE
Hours - 12-month contract - (37.5 hours per week)Working hours 8-4, some flexibility is required to support the production team

Our client delivers reliable power systems used in critical applications globally. Whether for data centres, on rugged job sites such as oil and gas fields or as backup power for our homes, our clients' technologies are trusted around the world.
They are looking for a Battery Operations Test Engineer to assist with the design and implementation of test processes of components or products in a manufacturing environment. This is a 12-month contract working 37.5 hours per week. There's a possibility for an extension or transition into a permanent contract after these initial 12 months but this is not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and upgrade test equipment and architectures for application products
Analyse test results to provide recommendations and guidance on root cause of test failure events
Create/develop in-line and end-of-line battery verification processes & procedures
Create/develop and verify test scripts for module/battery pack cycling using NHR's & AV900/lynx
Create/Develop leak test process/procedures for inline & end of line quality checks using Sciemetric/Furnace controls/Infacon
Software flashing of battery BMS and associated assemblies
Create a list of battery fault codes/failure modes through experimental work during the prototype phase
Support battery teardown diagnosis post prototype testing
Work cross functionally to define pass/fail criteria for in-line & end of line testing
Collaborate with the production/manufacturing site team to hand over test procedures/specs from the prototype location including best practices & lessons learned
Develop Operations technician team in core test competencies and use of test equipment.
Define hardware requirements for battery programs (including harnesses and test equipment)
Understand end product-specific functional tests during assembly
Requires cross-functional knowledge of product engineering, quality, manufacturing engineering, and facilities
Ensure all test procedures comply with safety standards
Ensure all test procedures comply with manufacturing standard
Skills
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required
Basic level of relevant work experience required
Must be able to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Must be able to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
Must be able to solve problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer.
Must have proactive health and safety skills by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety.
