Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role as a Technical Product Manager at ProGARM. As a Technical Product Manager, your role would be to manage and develop new products by ensuring that the technical elements of the projects are met and work closely with design team to ensure design and costing meet the project brief. The role is based in Newport, with flexibility for some remote work.
Key Accountabilities
• Ensure products are developed in a timely manner.
• Work closely with design team to ensure design elements meet the project brief, as well as samples and prototypes are produced within set deadlines.
• Product project management: managing critical path, development checklist completed, create costing and ensure costings are met.
• Select appropriate materials for the project and work closely with certification and testing team to ensure test reports are available and valid.
• Performing bill of materials risk assessment.
• Work closely with sales team to understand end user requirements and to complete a project briefing for the design team.
• Visit end users to understand requirements and present new products where needed.
• Perform product competitor research.
• Visit exhibitions to keep up with market innovations.
• Regularly visit suppliers to keep up with newest materials available.
• Sourcing new fabrics and materials, work closely with rest of NPD team to stay informed with latest developments.
• Manage materials library both physical and electronic version.
• Work closely with certification and testing team to ensure materials chosen are fit for purpose by both checking external test reports and performing internal testing.
• Ensure ProGARM and FlamePro garments are kept at the forefront of the market and constantly improved.
Skills and Experience
• Experience in Garment Product Management, specifically PPE
• Knowledge and understanding of various EN Standards such as but not limited to;
o EN 343, EN 1149-5, EN 13034, EN 14116, EN 16689, EN 61482-2, EN 11611, EN 11612, EN 20471, EN 469, EN 15384, EN 16073
• Proven experience in a busy relevant role
• Problem solving skills coupled with a can-do attitude
• Able to work to tight deadlines and willing to go the extra mile
• Able to multi-task and be cool under pressure.
• Ability to build profitable working relationships particularly with external factories and suppliers.
• Competency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint.
• Great attention to detail.
• Able to work as part of a team working towards a common goal.
Remuneration and Incentives
Basic Salary: range of £30,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
