Contract Type: Monday-Friday (Full-Time - 8:30am-3:30pm) -Temporary -Term Time Only

Salary: £83-£90 a day

Veritas Education have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary special school in Bradford. We are working with a cluster of special needs schools in Bradford specifically catered to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and complex needs. In this role, you will support students with a range of learning needs and support students with challenging behaviour.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support to students with SEN to help them engage effectively in learning activities.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.

Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes positive learning experiences for all students.

Work collaboratively with other professionals, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Support the students with their lessons and activities.

Be a role model and encourage positive behaviour.

Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

An optimistic outlook and determination to make a difference to children's education.

Assist with personal care when required.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children/adults with special educational needs is essential.

Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support students with diverse needs is preferred.

Relevant qualifications in education or special education are desirable.

Safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by veritas.

Level 2 Team Teach is desirable, although this training can be offered by Veritas.

Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.

Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
