We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join a large and successful school in the Slough area. This is an immediate start position for an individual who is either experienced or aspiring to be a School Caretaker. The role involves being a valued member of the school’s maintenance team, ensuring the school’s facilities are maintained to a high standard and providing a safe environment for students and staff.
Day-to-day of the role: Support the maintenance team with both response and planned maintenance tasks and repairs.
Maintain a systematic approach to general maintenance and repairs to ensure the school’s appearance is always neat and tidy.
Conduct weekly and monthly checks on heating systems, fire safety equipment, and water systems.
Assist in emergency evacuations and fire drills, ensuring student and staff safety.
Handle equipment and chemicals correctly, adhering to COSHH Regulations.
Report any Health and Safety issues promptly.
Manage tools inventory, ensuring they are in good repair and accounted for.
Adhere to budgets and financial guidelines.
Operate in line with the school’s Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Health and Safety policies.
