Job Description
Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant required to assist with day-to-day bookkeeping. Working in a hands-on environment this role requires a confident self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills who can work effectively with all areas of the business/company (including all associated businesses linked with the directors), customers and suppliers.
Key Duties will include:
Raising of account receivable invoices/credit notes and following up on outstanding balances (Credit Control)
Process purchase/expense invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely and accurate manner
Resolving supplier queries and preparing supplier payment runs
Maintain accurate ledgers - Sales, Purchases & General
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
Assist in preparation of banking reporting requirements
Assist in intercompany and other balance sheet reconciliations
Analyse, reconcile and post credit card statements
Assist with service charge postings and reconciliations
Assist with preparation & submission of all HMRC returns including VAT, CIS
Assist with preparation & submission of payroll
Assist with month end support, the preparation of management accounts/year end accounts/ trial balance
Assist with preparation of accounting schedules
Assist with office, administrative and organisational duties as required and support the directors
Perform ad-hoc finance-related tasks as needed
You will have the following skills:
You should be an experienced Bookkeeper/ Accounts Assistant and able to hit the ground running.
Excellent knowledge of general accounting (Double Entry)
Experience in Sage Line 50 accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential
Flexible, adaptable approach and ability to work as part of small finance team reporting to the Director of Finance and be prepared to get involved in all aspects of accounting/finance related duties
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders
