The Role
To deliver dishes and products in line with Big Help Food aspirations using a degree of surplus/donated food. To deliver high-quality food to customers on Match Day and Non-Match Day events.
To support the team of chefs including Head Chef, deliver a quality service and ensure the business meets all health & safety & environmental health requirements under guidance from management and supervisory staff.
Core Duties
Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section.
Ensuring dishes go out on time.
To assist in ensuring cleaning areas under your control are maintained to a high standard in accordance with pre-open and closing schedules / check lists.
Comply with all regulations regarding Health and Safety and Food Hygiene including specific Company systems and procedures.
To assist in taking necessary steps to ensure the kitchen area complies with Food Hygiene Regulations and Health and Safety Act, and all other relevantregulations.
Work as part of a team, have great communication skills and flexible attitude.
To report, and where possible take action for, any incidences of fire, damage, loss, breakdowns or other occurrences that effect service, safety of fellow staff and customers.
General Follow all Company/Club Policies, such as Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Anti-Corruption & Bribery and GDPR.
Make suggestions to improve the working environment and contribute to positive employee relations within your area of work.
To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other employees and members of the public who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
To comply with all aspects of the Big Help Academy & Southport Football Club Health and Safety Policy and Arrangements, to enable the Company to perform its civil and statutory obligations in relation to Health & Safety.
Ensure effective communication within your work team and across Big Help whilst actively offering support and guidance as necessary.
Relevant NVQs, professional cookery or culinary arts.
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety.
A passion for cooking and experience in a kitchen environment.
Technical skills and cooking techniques.
Excellent organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure.
Attention to detail to ensure consistent, high standards ensuring dishes go out on time.
Team working and excellent communication skills.
A hard-working and calm approach
Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.
Ability to delivery excellent customer care, polite, good attitude, and smile!
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for applicants who have previous experience at a relevant level within a similar business and can ideally demonstrate previous experience of preparing, cooking and serving meals and food to small and large numbers in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Your main base will be Big Help Academy & Southport FC.
