This role of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teacher involves working with pupils with various additional needs in a SEND school. The school is located in the Blackpool area and specialises in teaching and supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, Challenging Behaviours and other Complex Needs. The school is extremely well supported in terms of staff with many 1-1 TA’s available to support through the day.The successful applicant will need to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and ideally have experience in a SEND setting.Responsibilities as a SEND Teacher in this school: • Planning, preparing and marking work, with the confidence to plan and deliver lessons. • Insuring children are safeguarded in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023.• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. • Attending parent’s evenings, school meetings and taking an active role in the school. • Managing behaviour In line with the school policy. • Working closely with the SENDCo and Teaching Assistants/SUPPORT Workers to ensure that all the children are supported and achieving their full potential, and ECHP’s (Education and Healthcare plan) and IBP’s (Individual Behavioural Plan) are followed to meet the child’s needs.
