Position Overview:
As a Senior Battery Concept Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and innovation of electric vehicle batteries. You will be responsible for leading the conceptualisation, design, and development of advanced battery systems, focusing on enhancing performance, efficiency, and reliability. Your expertise will contribute to the evolution of their EV battery technology, ensuring the products remain at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualisation and design of electric vehicle battery systems, considering performance, energy density, cost, and safety.
Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate new battery technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate battery systems into vehicle platforms.
Develop and optimize battery pack architectures, thermal management systems, and control strategies to meet performance and reliability targets.
Perform simulations, analysis, and testing to validate battery performance and optimize design parameters.
Drive innovation through research and development initiatives to improve battery efficiency, cycle life, and sustainability.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (5+ years) in battery engineering, with a focus on electric vehicle batteries.
Deep understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in battery modelling and simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, MATLAB/Simulink).
Experience with battery management systems (BMS), thermal management, and safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive design decisions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading technical projects or teams.
