We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children facing challenges, to join us on a fixed-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Job Description: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant specializing in EBD support, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored assistance to two Year 1 children who present with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will create a supportive and nurturing environment where these students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to the designated Year 1 children with EBD, implementing strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation.

Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individualized behaviour management plans and intervention strategies.

Support the academic progress of the students, including assisting with literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum as needed.

Foster positive relationships with the students, building trust, rapport, and a sense of security in the classroom environment.

Monitor and record the progress and behaviour of the students, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and contributing to ongoing assessment and review processes.

Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress and strategies for supporting their child's development at home.

Requirements:

Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is essential.

Previous experience working with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) or similar needs is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions, with the ability to implement individualised support plans effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting children facing challenges, coupled with a genuine passion for making a difference in their lives.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the role and respond effectively to the needs of the students.
