Housing Support Worker

Seven Resourcing are looking for Housing Support Worker to work in Norwich. This position is initially for a minimum of 3 months and is paying £14.49ph PAYE.  This role is full time working on a rota basis.

The role:

Duties will include housing management tasks of rent arrangements, housing plans, multi-agency meetings, management of anti-social behaviour, and candidates must be able to use technology. Knowledge of the local area to do with charities and support services is also a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

To develop client / family or children and young people (as appropriate) led support using person-centred approaches.

To undertake assessments and to produce and review support and safety plans for individuals to ensure a high quality standard of support that promotes independent living.

To actively seek to empower clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) and promote independent living.

To act as the lead case worker for a specified number of clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate). Develop, implement and review support and safety plans, facilitating clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to lead the process.  Where appropriate, work with client / family or children and young people (as appropriate) advocates and/or representatives from other agencies to co-ordinate an integrated support/care package.

Ensure action is taken to comply with specific contractual requirements of the service in delivery of support to clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate).

Use an asset-based approach to assessment and support planning which recognises the client's / families' or children and young peoples' (as appropriate) strengths, abilities, skills and aspirations and seeks to encourage their development. To sign-post to relevant agencies and provide support around issues such as independent living, tenancy management, welfare benefits, budgeting, life skills, employment, education, training and resettlement (where applicable).

In line with the support and safety plans and the aims of the service; plan and prepare with clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to move to independent living and/or other appropriate support services as required.

Support the client / family or children and young people (as appropriate) to access activities and facilities of their choice within the community in line with their support and safety plan.

Support, enable and empower clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to work towards living independently of services.

Provide personal care where agreed in the clients support plan (Care Quality Commission regulated care services only).

To make decisions in relation to referral acceptances and admittances in line with local service procedures.

Facilitate clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to access advocacy services and, where they agree, act as an advocate on their behalf in relation to issues identified in their support and safety plan.

To keep up to date with knowledge and own ability to work within the statutory framework relevant to the client group / families or children and young people (as appropriate).

To co-ordinate and develop Level 1 and Level 2 support / care workers where required, reviewing case loads and practice.

To co-ordinate, induct and support volunteers within their Role Descriptions and in line with the Volunteer Policy and Handbook (where applicable to role).

To provide support in specialist areas where identified with the client / families or children and young people (as appropriate) as part of the support and safety plan.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 2 years' experience in a similar role.

Compliance: 3 years references.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
