The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead a cross-organisational examination development project involving three partner organisations and a large number of volunteer clinicians.

The three UK Surgical Royal Colleges (being Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG), the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) and the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng)) have committed to work together to develop and deliver a single end-point specialty assessment for the newly revised Dental Specialty Training curricula that will be introduced to trainees starting their careers from September 2024. The assessment will first be used in 2025/26.

As a Project Manager for this exciting new initiative, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and driving forward key aspects of this project that spans all three Royal Colleges. You will be responsible for managing the project work from conception to completion, ensuring the outcomes align with our strategic objectives and deliver measurable impact.

Working across our three colleges, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the intercollegiate project development activities. This role is key to keep all relevant stakeholders updated of progress, ensure involvement of relevant parties and delivery of a high-quality assessment with clear and transparent governance, all developed with the trainee at the core.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively coordinate efforts among diverse teams and stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead a project with significant impact on the delivery of activities to support UK trainees and international developments.

There may be requirement on occasion for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work.

About You

·      Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or related field (essential)

·      Proven experience managing complex development projects involving multiple organisations and stakeholders (essential)

·      Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a track record of successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule constraints (essential)

·      Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence diverse teams towards common goals (essential)

·      Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences (essential)

·      Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on anticipating challenges and developing innovative solutions (essential)

·      High level of adaptability and resilience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment (essential)

·      Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (essential)

·      Experience working in international or multicultural settings is a plus (desirable)

·      Passion for health development initiatives (desirable)
