We are seeking a Senior Accountant to take on the responsibility of producing and analysing month-end and annual management & financial accounts, along with all associated activities. This role includes line management of a team, providing oversight, mentoring, and coaching to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.
Day to Day of the role: Oversee the month-end process, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, variance analysis, and cash flow.
Conduct in-depth reviews of results, focusing on variance analysis compared to the budget and previous year, as well as Balance Sheet analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Manage a team of initially 3 direct reports and 1 indirect report, supporting and mentoring the team, managing workloads, and conducting annual appraisals.
Handle statutory reporting, including statutory accounts, annual returns, tax submissions, VAT (UK and other markets), etc.
Support the UK Financial Controller, EMEA Accountant, and EMEA Controller with ad-hoc tasks and analysis.
Secondary Tasks & Responsibilities: Assist with audit requirements and liaise with other markets regarding intercompany recharges and resource allocation.
Engage in various tasks such as revenue analysis, bookings reporting, and assisting with the budget.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Knowledge of ERP and financial consolidation systems, with NetSuite experience being advantageous.
Excellent organisational, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and adaptability, as no two days will be the same.
A good sense of humour is always welcome.
Education Requirements: O Level / GCSE Maths & English required.
Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar).
Experience Requirements: At least 5 years of accounting experience as a Part Qualified Accountant.
EMEA and/or Global experience.
Tax experience, conversant with tax rules and regulations in the UK, submission of tax returns, VAT rules & regulations when trading with other markets.
Experience in staff management, audit background, and additional languages would be an advantage.
Work Environment: This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, splitting time between two offices and part at home.
