Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PLC Programmer to join their dynamic team in Leicester. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a leading player in the material handling industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and program PLC systems to meet the requirements of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, test, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and systems.
Implement software changes and upgrades to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Perform regular maintenance and diagnostics on PLC hardware and software to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff on PLC systems and related equipment.
Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices in PLC programming and automation technology.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards in all PLC programming and system integration activities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in PLC programming, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
Familiarity with PLC hardware platforms from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex PLC-related issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Prior experience with material handling equipment or conveyor systems is a plus.
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
