We're embarking on an exciting journey here at AutoProtect, and we're on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in our data-driven journey.

Your objective will be to provide the business and its clients with a trusted, single source of data, with outputs that are easy to use and understand; integrated across all our products and services.

The role will be based in our Harlow office and the working pattern will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

The role

The key responsibilities you could be looking after include:

Analyse different performance metrics across a range of products to support customer acquisition and engagement;

Present and explain data in non-technical terms and engaging with stakeholders at any level;

Work with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical to design, spec and build data requirements and support the development of data pipelines;

Participate in efforts to design, build, and develop rapid proof-of-concept (PoC) data solutions and dashboards/reporting;

Be aware of the overall company data strategy, and contribute to the ideas and delivery of the strategy;

Support data queries in SQL (T-SQL/ANSI-SQL) and support data pipelines using in PySpark/Python, Databricks and AWS (Athena, Glue, S3);

Analyse data needs and coordinate new data requests and data change requests. Work with clients to understand their data requirements and what’s required from their BI dashboards and reports;

Produce bespoke queries/data extracts for stakeholders to enrich them with information in order to answer questions, address problems or make decisions;

Proactively participate in all stages of continuous improvement initiatives as well as new business requirements / projects;

Support colleagues and provide training on new processes and procedures;

Informs stakeholders on critical data integrity issues that impact them in a timely manner.

Skills and competencies

Ability to work with various data modelling techniques and strategies including Kimble/Inmon, Data-Mesh etc. Apply knowledge of basic principles, methods and practices to simple and moderately complex assignments.

Organised and able to prioritise work to meet deadlines and provide a high-quality output.

The right combination of communication skills and commercial awareness to manage the conflicting needs of different stakeholders. Engages and informs others to ensure understanding and desired outcome.

A confident self-starter, with the ability to build effective relationships, positively influencing colleagues and clients to become a ‘trusted advisor’.

Good attention to detail when working with data, figures or outputs. Being able to spot anomalies and issues quickly and effectively to identify root cause or patterns of interest.

Personal attributes

Resilient under pressure and comfortable in a changeable environment.

With drive and determination to achieve goals, seeks to understand and resolve problems and show initiative.

Strong communicator with people at all levels, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

Demonstrate experience in a similar Data Analyst role.

Ability to create and present analyses and reports.

Demonstrated knowledge of applied statistical methods using R, Python (or similar) would be an asset.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel – utilising PowerQuery, Pivot Table and Pivot Charts).

Experience of supporting Data Warehousing.

Basic SQL experience and understanding XML / JSON files.

Basic knowledge/experience of either Python, PySpark, R, Scala etc.

Experience using SQL, PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools.

Preferred:

Knowledge and experience of Financial Systems Support (Access Dimensions) or ServiceNow Support and Administration.

Strong knowledge of using SQL, PowerBI, Tableau etc.

Strong knowledge of using Python, PySpark, R, Scala etc.

Experience of supporting IT Applications and/or Platforms.

Experience of cloud data solutions (AWS, Google, Microsoft Azure), AWS preferred.

Degree in Business Analytics or Technology, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or equivalent experience.
