Senior Garment Technologist

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Garment Technologist with proven experience who enjoys the challenge of working across both Womenswear and Menswear to be a part of an extremely fast-growing company that prides itself on delivering high quality design-led products.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the and conducting in-house fit sessions balancing speed and quality; owning the fitting process and ensuring trust from Suppliers.
Managing the sealing process whilst ensuring samples are processed in a timely manner
Managing and supporting the Garment Tech team encouraging their growth and development.
Ensuring that samples conform to the original tech pack/previous fit comments for future seal stages
Analyse and advise on technical fit issues whilst communicating accurate comments to suppliers
Liaising with the Designers, Buyers and Suppliers to offer technical guidance on new product development and garment construction. Aiming to reduce time, returns, cost and improving quality.
Advising on fabrications for specific size specs at design and sign-off stage prior to sampling whilst supporting in finding new silhouettes for product development
Develop any blocks and fits for styles quarterly, in-line with design meetings
Overseeing and implementing the grading and tolerance rules of cross category styles on all size specifications.
Effectively liaising with suppliers and working alongside their pattern cutting team
Managing relevant testing, recording & resolving any issues effectively and efficiently
Manage the returns and faulty reports on a weekly basis. Analysing the data and resolving/highlighting any quality issues with suppliers and implementing solutions
Undertake audits by spot checking products and reporting on findings.
Delivering continuous improvement and creative solutions overseeing compliance long-term across Suppliers. Promoting quality at all times.
Requirements
A technically oriented qualification, preferably at degree level, is essential, as is a minimum of 4 years’ experience of a similar role in a fast-paced fashion environment
Multi-product experience; ability to move between product areas with assurance across both Womenswear and Menswear
Experience of working directly with factories, and thorough understanding of factory production, including workflow, production control, and equipment
Experience managing people
Comprehensive understanding of both Womenswear and Menswear, fitting and fit issues is essential
Pattern-cutting knowledge and practise is very desirable; knowledge of grading and grade rules is essential
Thorough understanding of garment construction, fabric technology & testing
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
A positive attitude towards challenges and implement solutions
Strong time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks & be flexible
Excellent attention to detail
Clear concise communication is a must both written and verbally
Confident using Outlook and Excel
