We have a fantastic opportunity for a Leaving Care Personal Advisor at Warrington Council. This is a full-time Temporary role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
What is the role?
Warrington Council are looking for a Leaving Care Personal Advisor, to be based within their Children in Care and Care Leavers team. To be the last point of contact for our young people on their journey through care and into adulthood.
What are your responsibilities?
The role involves working with a wide range of differing needs/complexities and supporting one of the most vulnerable groups within society, you must be able to work with partner agencies and be prepared to travel/respond to crisis as they arise. We work with young people up until their 21st birthday and the support can be extended up until their 25th birthday if this is necessary.
As a personal advisor, you will start to work with young people from their 16th birthday, forming relationships and contributing to their pathway plan on their journey into independence.
Personal advisors can often be the only professional involved with a care leaver therefore, the role includes practical as well as emotional support along with providing advice and guidance or signposting to various support services. You will be responsible for reviewing the needs of 21+ and qualifying care leavers on an annual basis too.
