SEN Primary Teacher Job Type: Long-term / Permanent

We are seeking a SEN Primary Teacher for a fantastic opportunity in a school that caters to young children between the ages of 4 - 11 with a wide range of learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and demonstrate strong empathy and understanding, which are crucial for this role. The school offers a supportive environment and is looking for a teacher who is patient, engaging, and committed to making a positive impact on their pupils’ educational journey. NQT's are welcome to apply but must have suitable experience within SEN settings.
Day to day of the role: Support pupils one-on-one and in small groups, focusing on building confidence, life skills, and academic abilities in reading, writing, and listening.
Work closely with a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants to understand and support each child according to their individual Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP).
Create a nurturing and understanding environment to help non-verbal and verbally challenged children communicate and thrive.
Uphold the school’s ethos, which has been recognised as ‘Excellent’ by ESTYN, ensuring it is lived out daily through each pupil’s experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience with or a strong understanding of the needs of children with disabilities and learning difficulties.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working within the Special Needs sector.
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members.
Must be compliant with Reed’s registration process, including possessing a DBS, good references, and registration with the EWC.
