Welding Inspector/ Workshop QC Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Welding and Dimensional QC Inspector/ Lead to join our team. This role requires a thorough understanding of a busy workshop environment, with an emphasis on welding and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and welding procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-weld visual fit-up and post-weld inspections, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Identify re-work or repairs and document them as necessary.
Work closely with a small quality team, offering support to trainee QC personnel and reporting to the QA/QC Manager.
Aid with Welding related questions i.e. weld procedures work scopes.
Conduct workshop-based inspections mainly welding related.
Provide guidance and instructions to production team on Quality related matters.
Attend and participate in daily Production Meetings and provide Quality Team input.
Review supplier material Certificates to ensure they comply with required specifications and Standards.
Assist with Quality Related correspondence with Customers and their Representative.
Understand the technical requirements for work packages and liaise with management and all project teams at kick off meetings when Quality Manger is unavailable.
Assist with Quality related requirements with independent organisations for quality related surveillances or inspections ensuring all visitors comply with company QHSE policies.
Ensure quality related onsite / offsite activities are in accordance with applicable codes and standards and Quality team understand requirements.
Attend meetings with Quality Manager to discuss and coordinate QA/QC Activities with workshop inspector to ensure timely manner for third part involvement for inspections.
Assist project team to purchase specific goods for ongoing projects.
Assist with the Hire Division when required for inspections.
Be familiar with Client’s requirement and help Compile Quality Documentation packages in direct response to their requirement and provide for review prior to submission.
Assist in the coordination of non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.
Compile and maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections.
Essential Requirements:
Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
Qualified to CSWIP 3.0 minimum.
Extensive experience in fabrication and welding (minimum City and Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualification or equivalent).
Familiarity with all welding processes and structural materials.
Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods.
