A Secondary Academy based in Oxford, Oxfordshire are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic EAL Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP on a part time basis (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) in this role you will be working closely with the teachers and school staff to improve outcomes, you will enable access to the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion for a young person or groups of young people with English as an Additional language .
THE ROLE
As a part time EAL Teaching Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the students' educational journey. Your responsibilities will include in the following:
Supervise and provide support for students with EAL needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
Provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
Attend relevant meetings with students and parents.
