Gifford and Partners have been appointed to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller on behalf of a leading Manufacturing/Engineering business based in West Yorkshire. Having recently had PE investment (preannouncement) they are looking to bolster the commercial offering within the business by appointing a Commercial Financial Controller. This role will report to the Finance Director and likely become a successor option down the line. The role will support sizable growth, international operations and partner between finance and operations bridging the gap and transparency whilst providing a moral compass and direction on the numbers. Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to;
Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans to support business objectives. This involves analysing financial data, market trends, and operational metrics to provide insights for decision-making.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, operations, and procurement, to align financial goals with business objectives. Providing financial expertise and support for decision-making.
Contributing to the development of financial strategies and initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and competitive advantage. Evaluating investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.
Leverage financial systems and technology tools to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
Leading a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship. Developing talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
