We are looking for an exceptional Head Chef with a background in fine dining for a unique boutique hotel and restaurant in the countryside near Oxford. The hotel has 23 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, an award-winning cocktail bar, private dining rooms and events space. Menus are fresh, seasonal, and focused on local produce including sustainable fish and rare-breed meats - which come from their own local farm. This is a very craft-led kitchen, so everything is made in-house including nose to tail butchery, foraging, open-fire cooking, house pickles and ferments, desserts, and pastry etc. The team is young, focused and work hard, standards throughout are high.
As Head Chef you will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of your kitchen including:
Crafting excellent and unique modern British dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients
Stock management, wastage & menu development.
Compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation
Training & inspiring the team.
Food safety & hygiene
The kitchen budget and GP
Maintain exceptional standards of quality assurance, food prep and cooking.
Required: Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Passion and enthusiasm for food and quality,
Relevant experience in a similar fresh food environment.
Creative flair & attention to detail
Team player with a strong work ethic
Meticulous, organised and punctual
Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and reliable Head Chef with several years’ experience in a similar fresh food kitchen cooking to 2AA rosette standard minimum. You will have strong kitchen management skills, lead by example and be competent managing a full portfolio of functions alongside the A La carte restaurant.
You must be comfortable working as part of the management team, taking direction from the owners and share the same end goals, with customer satisfaction paramount.
