RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Huddersfield for a Senior Advocacy Worker.
This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a salary of £26,460.
Main Duties:
Act as advocates for clients who are survivors of modern slavery; supporting them to address and overcome any social, personal, physical or mental health issues they may experience and empowering them with daily routines and activities.
Assisting clients with gaining access to benefit entitlements, health care provision, move on accommodation, educational services and any other identified areas of need or personal goals for the client.
Support and encourage staff, holding monthly client clinics with staff. SRAWs deputise for managers in their absence and understand and promote client quality agenda within the organisation.
All SRAWs provide on out of hours on call support for a week at a time. As part of this role you must be happy to be on call once every 4 months (no call outs).
Essential Requirements:
Experience of working with vulnerable and / or complex need client groups.
Experience of prioritising own workload.
Understanding of difficulties experienced by asylum, refugees and migrants, people fleeing domestic abuse, victims of slavery and human trafficking, individuals fleeing forced marriage or honour-based violence.
Substantial experience of risk/needs assessment and support planning.
Ability to empathise and seek solutions to problems faced by vulnerable victims.
GCSE’s A* to C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Role is subject to DBS check at the relevant level.
