We’re seeking a specialist teacher to join our inclusive and dynamic school community.
Position: Specialist Teacher for SEN Students
Location: South Leeds
Salary: Pay to scale plus SEN allowance (TLR if relevant)
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support and instruction to students with a range of SEN, including but not limited to ASC, ADHD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SEMH, Complex needs, and associated needs.
Create individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of each student.
Collaborate with the SENCO, support staff, and classroom teachers to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
Implement evidence-based interventions and behavior management techniques to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement, independence, and self-confidence.
Desired Qualifications and Skills: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Specialisation or experience in supporting students with SEN, particularly ASC, ADHD, and other specified needs.
Familiarity with interventions such as Attention Autism and Team Teach (desirable).
Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to working in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies.
A positive and empathetic approach to supporting students with SEN, promoting their well-being and inclusion within the school community.
