We have an exciting newly created opportunity to join the Quality department and lead the team that ensures that products, services, and processes meet or exceed the established standards and requirements to best service our customers.
The Quality team play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction, enhancing product or service reliability, and minimising defects or errors through collaborative working with other departments.
The department are a key enabler to drive overall organisational excellence and this role will act as a deputy to the Quality Director, leading on customer interactions and escalation as well as being directly responsible for the team.
It’s an exciting time for Guala Closures as the business continues to invest and expand the UK operation which will include moving operations to a large, brand-new, purpose-built facility at Gartcosh. The role will be heavily involved in the move and subsequent growth of the quality team as well as offer excellent career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership on quality standards and practices
Develop and improve the current quality management system to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures, standards, and specifications for all manufacturing processes.
Drive a high standard of root cause investigative practices and embed any lessons learned
Ensure the factory's compliance with all relevant quality standards, conducting regular audits to identify and address non-compliance issues.
Lead and manage a dedicated team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a culture of quality excellence.
Foster collaboration with other departments to promote a cross-functional approach to quality improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing production processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
Collaborate with the compliance manager along with the procurement and supply chain teams to establish and maintain robust supplier quality management processes.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure the quality of raw materials and components used in the manufacturing processes.
Implement feedback mechanisms to capture customer insights and incorporate them into the quality improvement process.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of quality processes, procedures, and inspections.
Generate regular reports on key quality metrics and provide updates to the senior management team.
Skills:
Proven experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of quality management systems and standards
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Analytical mindset and proficiency in data analysis tools.
