KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will review designs and provide feedback, challenging the consultancy's design where necessary.
Look for opportunities for value engineering when reviewing designs.
Be able to train and support more junior staff when necessary.
Contribute to managements of commercial, financial, environmental aspects of projects.
The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will attend internal and external meetings.
Build good relationships with clients and contractors.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND OF THE PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
The Principal Mechanical design engineer will have a degree in mechanical engineering or building services.
At least 5-8 years as Senior Mechanical Design Engineer if current job title.
The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience on several data centre project either providing detailed design and/or reviewing detailed design.
Working knowledge of UK standards and experience in an engineering consultancy.
Demonstrable ability to delegate to others, share knowledge and provide feedback.
The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will demonstrate technical competence and experience
Experience representing a business and participating in external and internal meetings.
Ability to work as part of a team.
